Lack of Major Innovation
Chess software has barely evolved in the past decade. Many platforms recycle the same features, offering little in terms of fresh ideas. The way chess is represented digitally hasn’t seen any groundbreaking changes.
Take the .PGN editor, for example. Its clunky, outdated interface has remained essentially unchanged. Despite being central to chess analysis, no one has bothered to rethink its design or improve its usability. It’s time for a platform that gets these basics right through thoughtful engineering and intuitive UX design.
Poor Accessibility
Chess software like ChessBase dominates the market but struggles with modern accessibility standards.
- Platform Lock-in: Most tools are tied to desktop apps with complicated installation processes.
- No Cloud Integration: Without SaaS solutions, users are stuck on one device, unable to switch seamlessly.
- Outdated Login Options: Essential features like Google login, cloud saves, and multi-device sync are missing.
We’re creating a cloud-based platform that works on all devices, giving users the flexibility and ease they expect from modern software.
Lack of Community Involvement
Current platforms operate in a closed system where users have little to no influence on future developments. We want to change that by building a truly collaborative environment.
- Feature Voting System: Users will be able to vote on upcoming features to shape the platform’s development.
- Open Suggestions on Discord: Have an idea that could improve your chess training? Share it on our Discord. We’ll listen and use our expertise in software engineering and UX design to make it happen.
Our Vision
We are building a platform that’s modern, accessible, and shaped by its users. It’s time to fix outdated designs, rethink chess training tools.
